One earbud missing. The cat is listening to a podcast now, presumably. The mana bill arrives right on schedule: 1 wireless earbud, 1 sneaky mouth, and a new favorite toy.
Then they wash one paw, very slowly, as if nothing happened at all.
Counter-spell
1. Store small things like hair ties, earbuds and pen caps in drawers or lidded boxes; small items can be swallowed.
2. Give them cat-safe toys to bat around instead, and rotate them so they stay exciting.
3. Trade the stolen item for a treat rather than chasing them through the house.
4. If you think something was swallowed, call your vet right away.
