The Spellbook describes the scene like this: our tiny wizard cat, sitting on a lying human's chest staring at face. Casting time: the moment your alarm is about to go off.
A small, warm weight and two enormous eyes, two inches from your nose. The mana bill arrives right on schedule: 1 human chest, 4 heavy paws, and a very long, very close stare.
Scholars agree it is impossible to stay mad at a face that round.
Counter-spell
1. Return a slow blink; many cats seem to find it reassuring.
2. Let your cat start contact and choose how close to be.
3. Offer chin and cheek scratches, which most cats enjoy.
4. Keep a calm, predictable routine; it builds trust.
