Our tiny wizard sits beside her food bowl. Her pink hat droops. Her sparkly eyes fill with sorrow. You walk over, worried, and look in the bowl. It is nearly completely full. Except for one small, empty circle right in the middle, where you can see the bottom.
To you, this is plenty of food. To her, this is famine. This is the end times. Scholars call this the Center Collapse, and they warn it can only be cured by a human gently shaking the bowl so the kibble covers the hole again. You do it. She eats, happily, with a tiny mrrp.
