Fears & Dramatics: Theatrical Illusions
Carrierus Vanishus
Incantation
The plastic box has appeared.
I know what it means.
I have become shadow.
I have become dust.
I AM NOT HERE.
- Crime
- Vanishes the instant the pet carrier comes out.
- Casting time
- The moment the carrier comes out
- Mana cost
- 1 plastic box, 2 glowing eyes, and 0 chance she's coming out
The Spellbook describes the scene like this: our tiny wizard cat, hiding deep under a bed, only glowing eyes visible, a pet carrier waiting in the doorway. Casting time: the moment the carrier comes out.
One glimpse of the plastic box and the cat becomes a rumor under the bed. The mana bill arrives right on schedule: 1 plastic box, 2 glowing eyes, and 0 chance she's coming out.
Scholars agree it is impossible to stay mad at a face that round.
Counter-spell
1. Leave the carrier out all the time with a soft blanket and occasional treats inside, so it is furniture, not a warning.
2. Practice short, calm trips in the carrier that end at home with a treat.
3. Cover the carrier with a light towel during travel; many cats feel safer when they cannot see everything.
4. Ask your vet about low-stress visit tips for nervous cats.
